The company I work for changed insurance companies. My husband was having heart problems, his heart beat was 185. He was shocked 4 times and had a dye test run. This was on a Sunday 1/9/07. I had not yet received the new insurance cards so I could not give the Hospital the insurance card. The hospital saved my husband’s life but the insurance company refuses to pay because the hospital did not inform them of the procedures. When I went back to work I called my HR person and got some information on how to go on line and get a copy of my insurance card, which I gave the hospital. I did not receive my insurance cards for 2 more weeks. The back of my card said it was issued 1/05/07 four days before the hospital trip. What can I do? How can my insurance provider not pay this bill?
