The availability of affordable health care in my community is limited and affects many people in the county including family members. In Colorado to qualify for medicaid your family’s income must be under 32,000. This leaves many other families who make more then 32,000 difficult to access health insurance. After many expenses like gas, electricity, bills, etc there is not enough money left to afford health care. The median house hold in Colorado brings in 58,823. Average cost of health care nationwide for premiums 393 per month for family coverage is 1,021 in one year that comes to 4,716 & 12,252 for family coverage. The prices are pricey for those who do not qualify for health care and earn more than 32,000 a year. This leaves many people uncovered leaving them vulnerable for unexpected tragedy that can leave them in debt.
