My 33 year old daughter had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome diagnosed 5 yrs ago. Had been tested for Lyme Disease at the time of initial diagnosis; tested negative. Her symptoms are very consistent with untreated Lyme so retested her with newer, more sensitive and more specific test. Tested Pos. Now no Or. docs will treat–say we don’t have Borrelia here but clearly we do. Testing is going on right now by private party that is showing quite a bit of Borrelia infection in ticks. Several of our CFS support group members have tested positive and the experience of denial by the med profess is unbelievable. They claim the science isn’t there–but it is and even we lay people can find good, peer reviewed research. Very frustrating.
