This is about mail order drugs. While we can get a three month supply of Rx drugs quite cheap ($4.00) it takes a while to get the program working. First you have to have the doctor write a one month Rx for the drug store to fill right away, then another Rx to send away to the mail order pharmacy. It will take about 2 weeks for the drugs to be sent to you. If you re-order the pills a little late, or if they get stuck in the mail system and you run out of pills, you can’t get more pills without paying full price for them. As a person gets older and maybe does not pay close attention on the quantity of medicine they have, it can be very expensive. Or in the case of my Mom, the Rx came late as they had been sent to her previous address, even after she had put in a change of address with her order. She had to order more medicine at full price. I have cautioned her that she needs to refill the Rx sooner than she had been doing, always keeping about a month’s supply on hand.
